The African American Community (TAAC) seeks to bring awareness to the generational trauma the people have endured by highlighting the disparities that continue to exist. TAAC’s mission is to identify the needs of the community and bridge the gap through advocacy and strong community partnerships. TAAC strives to build progressive relationships across the city to connect people with knowledge and resources, so together we can create innovative solutions together. Our priorities include business and economic development to support entrepreneurship to create jobs, education, public safety, and citizen empowerment. We want to see Portland become the most efficient, equitable and business-friendly city in the country. TAAC is committed to providing an open safe space that empowers and uplifts its members and families.

Portland, Oregon is known for its scenic beauty, vibrant culture, and progressive values. However, for many years, the African-American community in Portland has faced systemic racism and economic inequality.
We believe that we can work together to make a positive change in our community. Our mission is to empower the African-American community in Portland by providing opportunities for education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
